Who am I? What am I doing writing on Substack?
As my bio states, I am a retired meteorologist that finds the world we live in stunning. Stunning in all its beauty from corner to corner. Wait, the earth is a spheroid and has no corners. But I think you get my drift. There is beauty everywhere. So I spend my time exploring with camera in hand and try to capture the beauty I see on a small sensor buried deeply in the camera.
I was most recently in Colorado. A place with stunning views. So here is a picture from one of my Colorado trips. Not the most recent trip, I’ll upload a picture of the most recent trip some other day. This picture was taken a few years ago when I was first learning the art of photographing the night sky. We were staying in a cabin far from city lights, the moon was not visible in the sky. So I ventured out after astronomical twilight had ended and took a few photos. This is the result.
What do you think? Do we live on an incredible planet in the midst of an incredible galaxy that is part of all the known universe? What other incredible things could be found if we could venture to any of the billions of stars in this photo?
Enjoy, be kind, embrace diversity, explore, and have fun.
